Station recovered as described in good condition. The area containing the station has recently been under construction, and the station monument now sits between the two roadways of a private boulevard.

DESCRIBED BY LAND SURV OF OH 1993 THE STATION IS AN OHIO-MICHIGAN BOUNDARY MARKER, SET IN 1915. IT IS LOCATED 70 MI (112.7 KM) EAST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF OHIO, 7 MI (11.3 KM) NORTH-NORTHEAST OF TOLEDO, ON LOST PENINSULA BETWEEN THE OTTAWA RIVER AND MAUMEE BAY, AT THE ENTRANCE TO LOST PENINSULA MARINA. IT IS 39.0 FT (11.9 M) NORTH OF THE MARINA ENTRANCE DRIVE, 19.0 FT (5.8 M) EAST OF A NAIL IN THE CENTERLINE OF EDGEWATER DRIVE, AND 11.6 FT (3.5 M) NORTHEAST OF A MANHOLE. IT IS A GRANITE MONUMENT, 2.5 FT (0.8 M) BY 1.5 FT (0.5 M) SQUARE, PROJECTING 3.0 FT (0.9 M) . THE TOP IS MARKED BY A DRILL HOLE IN A GROOVE. THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF LETTERING ON THE SIDES OF THE MONUMENT. IT INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING,--OHIO--ON THE SOUTH SIDE,--MICHIGAN--ON THE NORTH SIDE,--POST 70--ON THE EAST SIDE, AND --STATE LINE 1915--ON THE WEST SIDE. THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF ADDITIONAL LETTERING ON THE MONUMENT. THE OHIO-MICHIGAN BOUNDARY REPORT, 1916, BY C. E. SHERMAN, PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. THE GRANITE MONUMENT IS 4.0 FT (1.2 M) LONG WITH THE BASE SET IN A BED OF CONCRETE 4.0 FT (1.2 M) SQUARE AND 3.0 FT (0.9 M) DEEP.

RECOVERY NOTE BY GEOMETRICS GPS INCORPORATED 1993 THE STATION IS LOCATED IN LUCAS COUNTY, OHIO IN THE CITY OF TOLEDO. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF SUMMIT STREET AND OTTAWA RIVER BRIDGE PROCEED SOUTH ALONG SUMMIT STREET 0.3 MILES TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH 131ST STREET. TURN LEFT AND PROCEED EAST ALONG 131ST STREET 0.5 MILES TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH EDGEWATER DRIVE. TURN LEFT AND PROCEED NORTH ALONG EDGEWATER DRIVE 1.0 MILES TO MICHIGAN AND OHIO STATE LINE AND THE STATION ON THE RIGHT. THE STATION IS A 2 1/2 FOOT BY 1 1/2 FOOT GRANITE MONUMENT WITH DRILL HOLE PROJECTING 3.0 FEET. THE MONUMENT, KNOWN AS GOVERNORS MONUMENT, IS ENGRAVED ON ALL SIDES - NORTH SIDE -MICHIGAN-, SOUTH SIDE -OHIO-, EAST SIDE --POST 70--, AND WEST SIDE --STATE LINE--. THE STATION IS 78.8 FEET NORTHEAST FROM A NAIL AND SHINER IN THE EAST FACE OF A POLE IN OHIO ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD, 45.7 FEET SOUTH FROM A NAIL AND SHINER IN THE SOUTH FACE OF A POLE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND 83.7 FEET SOUTHWEST FROM A NAIL AND SHINER IN THE WEST FACE OF A POLE IN MICHIGAN, ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by GPS observations and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in April 1998.
  • The orthometric height was determined by GPS observations and a high-resolution geoid model.
  • The X, Y, and Z were computed from the position and the ellipsoidal ht.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The ellipsoidal height was determined by GPS observations and is referenced to NAD 83.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
