Station recovered as described in good condition. Correct coordinates listed above. Minor changes to the station description would amend it to state that the station is 2 feet E of a road sign post and 8 feet ESE from a six-inch wooden post and carsonite witness post.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 1.4 MI NW FROM FLORIDA. FROM THE FLAT ROCK SCHOOL IN FLORIDA GO 0.15 MILE NORTH THEN 1.0 MILE WEST ON JEWELL ROAD 55. THE BENCH MARK IS AT THE INTERSECTION OF JEWELL ROAD 55 AND DEFIANCE-HENRY COUNTY LINE ROAD 3, ABOUT 1.0 MILE SOUTH OF BENCH MARK B 300, 27.0 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE JEWELL ROAD, 23.0 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF DEFIANCE-HENRY COUNTY LINE ROAD, 4.2 FEET NORTH OF A ROAD SIGN POST AND 1.0 FOOT EAST OF A WITNESS POST. A STANDARD DISK STAMPED C 300 1963, SET IN THE TOP OF A 10 INCH ROUND CONCRETE MONUMENT WHICH PROJECTS 4 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in 1992. No vertical observational check was made to the station. * This is a POSTED BENCH MARK height. Code NC indicates the bench mark was located on a no-check spur therefore a value was not computed.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
