After a DNF here a couple of years ago, I came back today and found this mark. Right now there is a spray-painted "Hillman" on the nearby road. Did not seek other marks.

This one bothers me; I found a newer witness post lying on the ground near GZ, but could not locate the mark after prodding the area.

ABOUT 3.3 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 66 FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH STATE HIGHWAY 47 NORTH OF DWIGHT, THENCE 0.25 MILES EAST ALONG A GRAVEL ROAD, AT THE JUNCTION OF A DRIVE NORTH TO A FARM HOUSE, 22.5 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 33 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE DRIVE NORTH TO THE FARM HOUSE, 2 FEET SOUTH OF THE FENCE, 5 FEET WEST-SOUTHWEST OF A FENCE CORNER, 50 FEET WEST OF A POWER POLE WITH A TRANSFORMER, 3.8 FEET EAST-SOUTHEAST OF A METAL WITNESS POST, 1 FOOT BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE ROAD, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST FLUSH WITH THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in October 1999.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
