Found it! Came all the way from Nashville just to log this one...well, not really. We came to visit family and decided to do some hunting also.

IN MARQUETTE, AT THE INTERSECTION OF LAKE SHORE BOULEVARD AND COAST GUARD ROAD, IN THE EAST END OF A 15 FOOT SQUARE CONCRETE PAD SUPPORTING A LARGE IRON KETTLE, ON A SMALL KNOLL IN THE MEDIAN OF THE ROAD, 15.1 M (49.5 FT) EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE BOULEVARD, 11.0 M (36.1 FT) NORTH OF THE CENTER OF THE EAST BOUND LANES OF THE ROAD, 2.9 M (9.5 FT) NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE PAD, AND 0.2 M (0.7 FT) WEST OF THE EAST EDGE OF THE PAD. THE MARK IS 0.3 M ABOVE THE GROUND.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • This Tidal Bench Mark is designated as VM 13368 by the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
