Beautiful old building. Saw it first time through the park. Later realized benchmark. Had to come back to find the marker.

This one is still in good shape.

Found a nearby geocache and made this find quickly too. All is well.

doesn't look like this entrance gets used a lot

Found benchmark in good shape. Can't say that for the old library building though, too bad.

Found Mark in good condition and used it to calibrate my altimiter. 820 feet above sea level.

Recovered in good condition as described in the 1980 description.

The building now houses: “My Little World – Learning Center Bilingual Curriculum – Pre-school and private kindergarten”.

found it right where it said it was.

Easy find..

Easy find.

Benchmark is in good shape near the West entrance. Not sure if this is still a library or a school. The sign says Blue Mountain Academy but there is still a book drop.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
