Didn't find it; but these double PID's for the same station don't make sense for what must be a standard MORC combination of a quarried underground stone, four feet of four inch heavy-walled stand pipe topped off with the distinctive Bench Mark cap with a raised round button affixed to the top of the pipe with a through and through cross bolt.

The 1965 crew had a NOT FOUND recovery for this BOLT and no history for the CAP.

The published L/L for this set puts them 300 feet from the toe of the bluffs, not "---at foot--", about 0.44 mi NE of the original Army numbers adjusted with a correction factor that has been working all the way down from Fort Benton. It is also downstream of where the historic "---river strikes bench. ---" instead of "---1500 feet above---". The adjusted L/L is at the calls but about ten feet below reservoir full pool elevation and at the toe of an eroded bank.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1935 32.6 MI NE FROM WILDER. IN PHILLIPS COUNTY, 12.5 MILES NORTH ALONG THE ZORTMAN ROAD FROM WILDER, FERGUS COUNTY, 20.1 MILES EAST ALONG THE LEGG ROAD. OPPOSITE A DRAW, 50 FEET NORTHWEST OF A FENCE, AND 27 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD. A MISSOURI RIVER COMMISSION STANDARD CAP, FASTENED ON THE TOP OF AN IRON PIPE.

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
