Found in good condition as described. The mark is now painted the same yellow color as is the wall. GPS was taking me to the building across the street, which is also a two-story yellow building. This benchmark is on the Allstate Insurance office building, 824 East 233rd Street.

I returned in the afternoon and found the BM. Now painted pale buff/yellow it is difficult to see until you get up close.

so, this was the last mark hunted for tonight, but I could not find it in the dark. BUT-It is rather dark on this corner of the street and I did not have my flash light. The building has been painted over and curiously the pale yellow brick has been painted pale yellow. I will revisit in the day light- to reclaim this DNF. It is probably there, still, and under a cloying layer of pale yellow paint.

a good day on vaca to go out with bro

Found as described in good condition.

Control Text

  • The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
  • The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
  • The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
  • The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (g = 980.6199 gals.).
  • The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
