Very nice views of the mountains and East PDX from up here!!

 Making Miracles Happen

Found 05/24/2012; I took the ferry from Sorrento to spend the day on the island of Capri and to look for this and another view cache. It took a long time to find the road up to the top of the view point (could have come down from the top but not nearly as spectacular) and the views of the sea were something else. Took about 30 minutes to get to the top of the "stairway" given the stops to enjoy the views and take photos but well worth it. Had just signed the log and returned the cache to the hidey spot when two young male German geocachers came on the scene and we chatted; took more photos; and I can count them for my cooperative challenge as well. Too much fun!!

Another View

Found 05/24/2012 on my day trip to the island of Capri from Sorrento. Walked a lot of VERTICAL miles to reach this Earth Cache but the view was "jaw dropping"; endless sea with the sails of tall ships in the distance---the best. And I passed a very small/isolated family run restaurant on the way so on the way back stopped and had one of the most lovely meals of my six week trip.

Found 09/15/2011; This is a very popular geocache (currently over 900 logs) To kiss the blarney stone must one go to the top of the castle tower (where the view is awesome) and then let some unkown person hang you upside down over the edge of the tower (where the view is quite terrifying) and have your picture taken in that position. Obviously gets lots of favorites.

I visited this camp because I have a great uncle who was here (I still have a copy of his journal) and the view of the passage and the mountains is spectacular. But trying to imagine the hardhsips these folks(mostly men, but some women as well) endured in the quest of gold is almost impossible. A truly memorable spot for me!!

Found on 09/14/2012; I had seen an article in print or on TV about the swifts some time ago. Later I stumbled across this cache and then decided to wait to go look for it until it was the "season" to see the swifts. It was a truly remarkable sight!!! I love the great places that geocaching takes me!!!

The views from here on a nice day or spectacular and still interesting even on no such a nice day---the history is interesting as well. I can just picture the trolley laboring up the hill with families on a Sunday afternoon!
