Sometimes we could use a good rock hounds nose to find those caches that are hidden somewhere in a half acre pile of rocks with a difficulty and terrain rating of 2/2 !!! [:O]

Captain Meriwether Lewis bought Seaman, a black Newfoundland dog, for $20 to take on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. 
A large sum of money in 1803!
Lewis named a tributary of the Blackfoot River near Clearwater Junction on Highway 200 "Seaman’s Creek".  It is now named Monture Creek. 
Seaman became famous for being a member of the first American overland expedition from the Atlantic to the Pacific and back. 
There is a great book by Laurie Myers titled "Lewis and Clark and Me: A Dog's Tale".
Was Seaman the first Geo-Dog accompanying Lewis and Clark on their discoveries ?
