Geocache Description:

This series of 52 caches is placed along an area of Dorset which is perhaps not so frequented as other better known tracks and paths. The series will take you along the South Dorset Ridgeway (SDR) and down onto the Bride Valley – and up out again – and maybe a few more ups and downs as well!
If the weather is kind to you, the views will be spectacular, both toward the coast of Lyme Bay, The Fleet, Chesil Beach and Portland; and inland to the valleys and hills.

All the caches have been set from a mountain bike so they follow bridleways and tracks with a small quiet road section. There are no stiles, just gates. Please be aware of animals in the fields. Some of the circuit can get very muddy after rain.

About the series: most of the 'finds' should be easy with some up and some down!; containers vary from nanos to medium sized with some in camo bags and some in homemade disguise; overall terrain rating is averaged at 3.5 – but beware, there are some steep climbs; the flattest sections are between 7 to 15 and 26 to 37. Distance around is approximately 24Kms. Plan carefully using a contoured map, your sequence of tackling them may not follow our numbering. Parking can be found on street in Portesham; at number 7; at number 15 or along the Long/Little Bredy road.

Please replace all the caches as you find them.

The circuit will take you into Chapel Coppice – go in deeper and tackle GC553C – we found that cache so unique in its location. GCHYZF, GC1RDV and the new Portesham circuit are also 'on route' or adjacent.

Good luck, have fun, don't rush so you can admire the views.
