Part of the Harry Potter series of caches set on the Slopes of Scolty Hill near Banchory on Royal Deeside . This is a wee Scottish Hill ( 299m) with a 20m Landmark Tower on its summit is situated near the Deeside Way . This circular cache trail incorporates a section of this wonderful walkway . The Tower , originally built as a memorial to General Burnett who fought alongside Wellington was restored in 1992 and now can be climbed from within for those with no fear of heights!
This trail has clear paths albeit muddy and rough in parts. It is approximately 4 miles long .There is one quite steep section and the trail takes in the top of the hill. It might take 2-4 hours to complete( allow for enjoying the caches and the views, and of course climbing the tower!
