Night cache, hidden as part of the Chippewa Valley Geocaching Event. Mark your vehicle so you can find your way out. From the parking area near the above coordinates, follow firetacks until you see three in a tree. When you see three in a tree, you are within 45 feet of cache.
In the late 1970s, when this road was still used, there was a young couple who were out on a drive one spring. The couple, intent on eachother and not on the winding road in the dark, crossed over the bridge and lost control of their car. The car left the road, down the embankment into the creek swollen with runoff. It landed upside down, trapping and drowning both young drivers.
Over the years, the couple has been seen wandering the road, looking for help. Over time, there have been so many disturbances, including people shooting at the horrible corporial images that the county finally closed the road to traffic. If you are attentive you can see signs where the ghosts were shot at...
The road still bears the name of the couple killed that fateful night; Sandusky.
