An Allyn56 puzzle cache with half a dozen twists and turns… a single cache up on a mountain peak 5 miles from the nearest road…I’ve had an idea to post a neglected cache challenge for sometime.
The summer months in Las Vegas make many desert caches inaccessible for six months out of the year, in addition, the Valley has such a rich number of other caches that it is easy for a remote cache to go unfound for over a year. I’m hoping that this cache may provide some incentive to find some of these neglected caches.
Here are the rules, in order to log this cache you need to:
- Find and log a cache where the previous log is at least 365 days old. For example: as of the posting of this cache, the last log to “A Valentine’s Cache” GCMTGQ was 2/14/2011. The next finder of this cache will qualify for this challenge.
- Be sure to include the name of the cache that you found for verification. I reserve the right to delete any logs that do not list the neglected cache.
Previous logs do count! Also, if a group finds a neglected cache then everyone in the group will qualify for the challenge, just make sure everyone logs the cache on the same day!
Please note:
There may be a good reason why the cache hasn’t been found in a year. Be smart when you go out into the desert. Bring plenty of water, bring shade for the sun, let someone know where you are going, and have fun!
