From High St, travel up Bitter Creek Rd for 1.48 miles.
At the base of a large pine tree to the right of the cave.
The original cache box was a fishing tackle box. Quite possibly due to weather and melting show, the original cache disappeared and I am thankful for the Geocaching community to assist in creating a new cache. I believe you will be looking for a small film container/pill bottle size cache covered in camouflage tape.
From High St, travel up Bitter Creek Rd for 1.48 miles.
This cache was place while we were on vacation. We passed the "bear cave" as we traveled to and from our house. It is not really occupied by a bear but just referred to as the "bear cave."
The climb up to the cave is not difficult but be sure to watch your footing. As you are standing at the top of the hill facing the cave, the cache can be found at the base of a large pine tree to the right of the cave.
We enjoyed exploring the "bear cave" and would love for all who finds this cache to enjoy it as well. Also, while standing in front of the cave, be sure to take in the beautiful scenery.
Would encourage you to bring a flashlight if you plan on exploring the cave. The cache is NOT located inside the cave. Also, if you plan on searching for this cache on a rainy day, it has been reported that it can be a bit of a slippery climb so please use caution.
It has also been logged by cachers that the original coordinates have been leading individual to the opposite side of the road. Thank you to sunnyaggie2005 for an updated set of coordinates. If for some reason the original coordinates lead you away from the cave try the following set:
