Stretched across the middle of the channel between Whidbey and Fidalgo islands, Hope Island heralds the end of Skagit bay and the beginning of Similk bay.
The Island is a 200-acre marine state park. It offers several campsites, attractive beaches and a trail across the island. The island is forested with occasional meadows and rock outcroppings.

The geocache may be placed on Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission managed property only by written permission from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.
