How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to TheCachingFools geoart. Some caches will be preform tubes and others will be lock-n-lock style containers. The container size listed on the top of the page will give you an idea of which type of container for which you are searching. All caches have been placed on the county right of way and placed with permission of the county commission. Please do not rotate the containers as each one has been chosen for its specific location.

Please note that these caches are located on dirt roads. Some of these roads get quite messy with rain. Lower riding vehicles may have problems on these roads after rainstorms. Also, appropriate footwear may be needed (such as rubber boots) as there is sometimes water in the ditches.

Of course you will need to solve all the puzzles to obtain all the corrected coordinates for the containers. The answers should not be too difficult, but will take some searching the web.

The final coordinates are:

N32° 51.??? W81° 52.178

To solve, answer this question:

In Italy, France, Belgium, and French-speaking areas of Switzerland and Canada, 1 April tradition is often known as "April fish" (poissons d'avril in French or pesce d'aprile in Italian). This includes attempting to attach a fish to the unsuspecting victim’s back.

A.) True (434)
B.) False (475)

What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunt, in which a geocacher hunts for a hidden container - called a geocache - using a GPS device. Once the geocache is located, the geocacher signs the log and replaces the container as found. The geocacher then shares his/her adventure online at www.geocaching.com.

Trade Items in Geocaches:
Some geocaches will contain trade items or trinkets, also known as swag. If you see something that you would like, you are welcome to trade for it. When trading, please remember to trade something of equal or higher value.

Disclaimer to New Geocachers:
If you are new to geocaching, please take a few moments to read through this disclaimer. We wish to have the game of geocaching remain pleasant for all those who wish to participate. Please do not vandalize or take geocache containers. Also, after you have located the container and signed the log, please take care to replace it as you have found it. Also when replacing it, please be sure the container is concealed. This helps prevent the cache from being noticed by Muggles - those who do not geocache. For more information, please visit http://www.geocaching.com/guide/

What are trackables?
There are additional items sometimes found within a geocache known as trackables. These items come in all shapes and sizes and will have some sort of tracking number on them - usually six digits. They can range from coins, to toys with a special dog tag, or just a plan tracking tag. Some of these items have special missions, and others will just want to travel from cache to cache. It is permissible to remove these items from a cache only if you intend to drop them into another cache within a timely manner - generally within a couple of weeks. If you remove a trackable, you do not have to leave a trade item (in most cases). For more information on trackables, please visit www.geocaching.com/track

Log Types
These are the most common log types for logging your adventure online. "Found It" - use this when you have found the cache and signed the log. "Did Not Find" (aka DNF) - when you couldn't locate the cache. "Write Note" - when you need to add some general information. "Needs Maintenance" - when something is wrong with the cache such as a broken lid. "Needs Archived" - (rarely used) in instances when a Needs Maintenance log has gone unanswered by the cache owner for a prolonged period. "Will Attend" - for events that you plan to attend. "Attended" - after attending the event. More Information about logs can be found here
