 Il monte di Portofino è alto 610 m ed è interamente compreso nel Parco naturale regionale di Portofino. Si trova al confine tra i comuni di Camogli e Santa Margherita Ligure. La flora del monte è tipica della macchia mediterranea.
La macchia è uno dei principali ecosistemi mediterranei. Si tratta di una formazione vegetale arbustiva costituita tipicamente da specie sclerofille, cioè con foglie persistenti poco ampie, coriacee e lucide, come le specie sempreverdi arbustive, quali Mirto (Myrtus communis), Lentisco (Pistacia lentiscus), Alaterno (Rhamnus alaternus), Terebinto (Pistacia terebinthus), Fillirea (Phillyrea latifolia) e arboree quali Corbezzolo (Arbutus unedo), Orniello (Fraxinus ornus) e Leccio (Quercus ilex) nonchè lianose: Stracciabraghe (Smilax aspera), Robbia (Rubia peregrina), Fiammola (Clematis flammula).

 The mountain of Portofino is 610 m high and is entirely included in the Portofino Regional Natural Park. It is located on the border between the towns of Camogli and Santa Margherita Ligure. The flora of the mountain is typical of Mediterranean scrub. The Mediterranean scrub or Maquis is one of the main Mediterranean ecosystems. It is a shrubland biome in the Mediterranean region, consisting of densely growing evergreen shrubs, typically made from sclerophilous species, with little leaves, coriacee and lucide, such as myrtle (Myrtus communis), Mastic (Pistacia lentiscus), Italian or Mediterranean buckthorn (Rhamnus alaternus), Pistacia, mock privet (Phillyrea latifolia) and arboreal species such as Irish strawberry tree, or cain or cane apple (Arbutus unedo), South European flowering ash (Fraxinus ornus) and holly oak (Quercus ilex) as well as lichens: rough bindweed (Smilax aspera), wild madder (Rubia peregrina), fragrant virgin's bower (Clematis flammula).

The Cache: Is a small box hidden in one of those evergreen shrubs, on a small promontory apart from the hiking trail, from where you can enjoy the great and unique view.

 Der Berg von Portofino ist 610 m hoch und befindet sich im regionalen Naturpark von Portofino. Er liegt zwischen den Gemeinden Camogli und Santa Margherita Ligure. Die Flora des Berges ist typisch für die macchia mediterranea. Die macchia, oder auch Maquis genannt ist eines der wichtigsten Mittelmeer-Ökosysteme. Es ist ein Busch-Biom im Mittelmeerraum, bestehend aus dicht wachsenden immergrünen Sträuchern, die typischerweise aus sklerophilen Spezies mit kleinen Blättern, wie zum Beispiel Myrte (Myrtus communis), Mastixstrauch (Pistacia lentiscus), Stechpalmen-Kreuzdorn(Rhamnus alaternus) , Terebinthe (Pistacia terebinthus), Fillirea (Phillyrea latifolia) und baumartige Arten wie Corbezzolo, dem Westlichen Erdbeerbaum (Arbutus unedo), die Manna Esche (Fraxinus ornus) und der Steineiche (Quercus ilex) sowie Flechten: Stechwinde (Smilax aspera), Färberröten (Rubia peregrina) , sowie Brennende Waldrebe oder Mandel-Waldrebe (Clematis-Flammula).

Der Cache: Es handelt sich um eine kleine Dose, die an genau solch einem Strauch befestigt ist, in Mitten der macchia mediterranea, ein wenig ab vom Wanderweg, von wo aus Du eine wunderschoene Sicht auf die Küste hast.
Ausstattung: Wanderschuhe, Trinkwasser.
Kein Cache ist es wert sich zu verletzen. Bitte beachtet, dass wenige Meter entfernt der Steilhang beginnt.
