Located in the Greenbrier State Forest (a WV State Park) at Hart's Run, from Exit 175 on I-64. Parking at N 37 44.204 W 80 21.647. The trailhead is across the road. Hikeable in walking shoes in summer, but boots better at other times.
This cache offers a easy on/easy off from I-64 that quickly gets the traveling geocacher into a forest environment, far from the madding crowd.
Cache is in a metal ammo can to which the original geocache sticker and West Virginia DNR geocache sticker have been affixed. The contents include: alien keychain, Elvis drivers' license, GI canopener, CD, WV postcard, match container, mouthwash, Heimlich instructions, picture frame, beads, fake scars, Ruritan badge, interesting rocks, and a disposable dental mirror.
There is a disposable camera for taking your picture. I have used a flash camera this time, since the cache is back in the trees. Press the button on the front for flash.
Continuing on the Black Bear Trail provides a great hike through some gorgeous terrain, cool even on a hot day. Other caches have been placed on this trail and on connecting ones to create a full day of geocaching.
A log book and pencils are included for reflections on the adventure.
