A beautiful hike through the mountains with lots of views to enjoy along the way.
This cache is named after my sister Heather. When she was a small girl,I used to call her Heather-Roo...and the nickname "Roo" has stuck with her ever since. To get to the trailhead for this cache,go to the east side of Canyon Ferry Lake on Hwy.284 until you see the turn to White Gulch.Go down White Gulch approx. 7 miles, then turn left on Spring Gulch Road...this road is closed to vehicles from December 1st to May 15th.Go down Spring Gulch Road approx. 6 miles to where it deadends at a circle turnaround.Park here. You will pass the trailhead sign about 400 feet before you reach this parking area. The coords for the trailhead are N 46 39.625 W111 28.141.The trail travels pretty much straight in the direction of the cache with 2 major forks in it.Stay to the right at both forks. The 1st fork has 3 wooden signs pointing in 3 different directions...the picture with this post points the way. There are a few places, especially towards the end of the trail, where the trail is overgrown and cannot be seen...follow your GPS.About a quarter of a mile from the cache you will need to cross over a game management fence...you are on forest service land the whole time,so no worries.
