Geocache Description:

Scouting Builds Ethics and Character

As youth, Scouts are taught to live by a code of conduct exemplified in the 12 points of the Scout Law, and they continue to live by these laws in adulthood. The Scout Law has 12 points. Each is a goal for every Scout. A Scout tries to live up to the Law every day. It is not always easy to do, but a Scout always tries.

A Scout is…

TRUSTWORTHY

LOYAL

HELPFUL

FRIENDLY

COURTEOUS

KIND

OBEDIENT

CHEERFUL

THRIFTY

BRAVE

CLEAN

REVERENT

Eagle Scout is the highest rank that a scout can earn.  Earning the rank of Eagle Scout requires a scout to plan, lead, and complete a community service project. Each Geocache in this series will take you to a different Eagle Scout project that was completed by a local scout.  My father and I are both very involved in scouts as well as being avid geocachers. I myself am an eagle scout. We wanted to create a series that honored many of my friends and fellow eagle scouts.

This cache is the eighth of the series and represents the Eighth Point of the Scout Law…CHEERFUL. This cache is placed for the eagle project of a local scout that was a member of Troop 208. He built a dozen of the planter boxes at the Wolcott Mill Farm “Victory” Garden.  The planter boxes are used by the local 4H Club to grow a variety of different vegetables like people did during World War I & II in their backyard “Victory” Gardens.

THERE IS NO NEED TO ENTER THE VICTORY GARDEN TO FIND THE FIRST STAGE OF THIS MULTICACHE!

We hope you enjoy this series as much as we did in creating it.  We hope to challenge and entertain you in the process.  Please respect the area and other visitors. Cache placed with permission of Huron-Clinton Metroparks.

The cache is located within the Wolcott Mill Farm Learning Center which is part of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. A Metroparks permit is required: $10 daily pass, $35 annual pass, $21 annual senior pass. All park rules and regulations apply. Park in parking lots only.

The first stage of this multi-cache is a high traffic area so please use extreme caution when searching.
