"Mcmillamends" is my amends to four students (including flaminrosy , kevinochoa and epicalex24) from Mcmillan Middle School. Back in June, they hid a cache entitled "Tree before Z ?" Unfortunately, as new hiders, they didn't hide the cache before publication, so I (and a couple of others) DNF'd on it. They wrote soon thereafter that they were going to hide the cache, but didn't log that they'd done so and I (and a couple of others) had additional DNF's on it afterward. Assuming it wasn't there, I put in a request for it to be archived, and a couple of months later it was indeed archived. Since the spot was now free and I'd seen a fantastic hiding spot while searching for theirs, I hid my own cache in the same structure theirs had been!
Welllll...it turns out that, at some point, they DID hide it...perhaps I was just blind, or maybe it was later than expected...and mb44 discovered it while searching for mine. She passed their container off to me. Since the "Z Hiders" do not appear to be geocaching any longer, the old cache is not recreatable....so, in order to make amends, I decided to rehide their cache container a few blocks away, in the same vicinity as one of my own just-archived caches, hidden in a similar manner as was "Tree before Z ?".
So I guess I'm making "McmillAmends!"
Here's their original cache write-up for "Tree before Z ?":
This geocache is categorized as micro/small. It was created by 4 students in Mcmillan Middle School. We created this because it was a school project and it was fun. This geocache took various steps to building. First, we found a pill bottle at home. The bottle is made out of recycled material. We wrapped the bottle in tape and made it camouflage.
