	La Via delle Abbazie #6 - Rosazzo [ITA] La leggenda narra che l'Abbazia di Rosazzo fu fondata dall'eremita Alemanno ma le notizie certe sulle sue origini risalgono al XI secolo, quando i canonici regolari Agostiniani vi si insediarono. La fondazione ufficiale avviene però nel 1085, nel 1091 il conte Ulderico di Eppestein prese possesso dell'Abbazia e la trasformò in un monastero benedettino. Il complesso abbaziale sovrasta, dalla collina su cui è costruito, un largo tratto del Friuli orientale tra i fiumi Natisone e Judrio ed è circondato da splendide colline, vigneti e uliveti. I monaci benedettini giunti a Rosazzo dalla Carinzia introdussero nel territorio la coltivazione della vite e dell'olivo già alla fine del 1200. Qui furono creati i primi vitigni friulani di Ribolla Gialla, Picolit e Pignolo: la cantina d'invecchiamento è la più antica del Friuli. Oggi la Fondazione Abbazia di Rosazzo promuove numerose attività culturali, ospita convegni, mostre d'arte, manifestazioni relative anche alla storia dell'Abbazia stessa, appuntamenti concertistici e attività in collaborazione con altri enti. L'abbazia offre inoltre la possibilità di pernottare, disponendo di quattordici camere con servizi privati. [ENG] According to legend, the Abbey was founded by the hermit Rosazzo Alemanno but certain information about its origins date back to the eleventh century when the Augustinian Canons Regular settled there. The official founding in 1085 is, however, in 1091 the Earl of Ulderico Eppestein took possession of the Abbey and became a Benedictine monastery. The Abbey dominates the hill on which it is built, a large tract between the rivers of eastern Friuli Natisone and Judrio and is surrounded by beautiful hills, vineyards and olive groves. The Benedictine monks arrived in the territory Rosazzo from Carinthia introduced the cultivation of grapes and olives at the end of 1200. There were created the first vineyards of Friuli Ribolla Yellow Picolit Pignolo: the aging cellar is the oldest of Friuli. Today the Abbey Rosazzo Foundation promotes numerous cultural activities, hosting conferences, exhibitions, events relating to the history of the Abbey itself, concert events and activities in collaboration with other institutions. The abbey also offers the possibility of staying, having fourteen rooms with private facilities.
