As part of the celebrations for a momentous occasion, the Makers invite you to an A-Z TOUR OF YORKSHIRE.
There are 27 caches, one for each letter of the alphabet plus a bonus cache, scattered throughout Yorkshire. As you travel to historic, panoramic, beautiful or just plain quirky locations, you will pass through some of the most spectacular areas of the county.

You can find the series in any order. Each cache contains a number you need to keep a note of as adding the first 26 sets of numbers together will give you the co-ordinates for the Bonus Cache, which is GC7JF9A. Heading to that listing page will give you information on the rest of the series.
This cache is placed at Burton Constable
Located in beautiful parkland far from any village, it seems lost in a world of its own. The Constable family have owned property in the Holderness area of East Yorkshire since the 12th century, and are descended from Ulbert the Constable, a knight serving under the powerful Norman Count of Aumale. The hall was built by Sir John Constable (1526-1579), a remarkable character who managed to navigate the tricky politics of 16th century England and amass a fortune, despite having supported both Catholic and Protestant sides of the religious struggle. In the 1560s he purchased the Siegnury of Holderness from the Earl of Westmorland for the sizeable sum of 4000 pounds. He then began to rebuild the earlier medieval hall on the site.

A parking waypoint has been added which gives a fantastic view of the rear of the hall, however, please park considerately as access may be required to the gated field.
