Geocache Description:

Lion's Den was one of the 2010 Treasures of Oz featured sites.

See Treasures of Oz: Explore the Ozaukee Coast for details about this year's event to be held on Saturday, 6/18/2011.

The cache is a peanut butter jar.

Lion's Den is about the Lake Michigan migratory bird flyway and bluff protection. This land for this 73-acre park was purchased by Ozaukee County from Dr. Ghulum Dhar in 2002. It includes almost 0.7 miles of 90 to 100 foot bluffs above Lake Michigan. The land is a mixture of wetland/upland areas that provide diverse habitats for native wildflowers, shrubs, and trees. It's a habitat for wildlife such as migratory birds, game birds and waterfowl, amphibians, and mammals. The park is also adjacent to a 44-acre Waterfowl Production Area, owned by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

About Treasures of Oz celebration:

On Saturday, June 18, 2011, we'll celebrate Ozaukee County's significant natural resources. Join us for the free, kid-friendly, day of exploring the following seven sites.
