Geocache Description:

A Highlanders home??? Well if you look over the field opposite the parking area you will see the roofs of Crieff and we're sure that's where the Highlanders hail from......!

Not sure if they live in the castle just down from here though!

Inverquharity Castle, originally built in the early 1440s as a simple rectangular tower was extended in the 16th century forming an L shaped building of 4 stories and a garret with a corbelled out parapet. The land and castle were the property of the Ogilvie family from when it was originally built until the late 1700s when it was sold. The new owners obviously had more money than sense as they demolished the 16th century wing before allowing the rest of the castle fall into disrepair.  The castle was given a renewed lease of life when it was purchased by the Grant family in the late 1960's. They have since rebuilt the 16th century wing and restored the original tower house. It remains a family home to this day.

Cache is a tiny 2"square lock and lock container
