UPDATE: THE SCHOOL HAS MOVED AND THE NEW COORDS ARE 11 15.101N 85 52.197W The new location is an easy walk from the old location and the following directions to find the cache still apply.
The above coordinates will take you to the street side gate to the Barrio Planta Project school
( barrioplantaproject.org ) You will only be able to bag this cache when the school is open, Monday through Friday from 8:30 - 5:30 (closed 12 - 1 for lunch). Find the main office and ask for Dyani or Damaris, they are the school directors and are anxiously awaiting your visit. One of the directors will show you to their office and the final location of this ammo can filled with swag and a log book. You will also get a wonderful opportunity to visit a great bunch of local kids in their English immersion classes or playing basketball and soccer on their playground. They welcome your pictures, your stories and your interaction (most of the time).
When we visited San Juan Del Sur from Oregon we brought our 2 and 4 year old grandkids and we stuffed our suitcases with school supplies for this school. Our kids made a book with pictures and captions of their activities, pets and friends back home in Oregon. The local kids were thoroughly entertained as the teacher read their story to the class.
Please don't be shy about bring some gifts or donations to the school .... they will certainly be grateful and put them to good use.
The ammo can contains a log book and some local trinkets for trading. Amongst the original booty in the ammo can are two TB's. They belong to our grandkids, Brice and Ellie. These two TB's are having a race back to a geocache near their home in Oregon. Please move them along if you're leaving town soon.
