Geocache Description:

I hope you will enjoy this cache as it takes you on an interesting walk which is part of the Millennium Circular Walk.

There are super, long distance views to give a different perspective on all the cache sites in St.Ives you will have no doubt already done, or plan to. Careful of the electric fence (top strand) used for the horses in the field at the side of the path if you have children.

Walking from the suggested start point is steep and rocky in places not suitable for buggies. Normally well signed. However there is a tricky bit at the old Teacher Training College where you need to go up Nickolson Close to find the path which is not sign posted until you get to the end of the Close. Thanks to EagleOwl for the web link to some old photos. Strange that both my Mother and Aunt-in-law were both at the college at the same time. (visit link)

Depending on what length of walk you want there is plenty of free parking on Beck Lane (N53.51.386:W1.50.225) and a Café at the 5Rise Locks (note only open weekends non-main tourist season). Or see details at GC12ARA cache for the other end of the walk. Loop back down via GCKG6M and the canal towpath.
