Mikä ihana päivä tänään onkaan! Ilma on kaunis ja koulu loppui,
joten edessä on kymmenen huoletonta vapauden viikkoa. Päätin
juhlistaa tilannetta nautiskelemalla hiukan jaloja juomia
parvekkeellani. Kuten minut tuntevat tietävät, pidän tavattomasti
yksimaltaisista skottilaisista viskeistä. Koska niitä ei
milloinkaan nautita kuin tilkkanen kerrallaan, mittaan juoman
määrän aina tarkasti. Laitoin saunan lämpenemään ja makkaroita
kiukaan päälle foliossa tekeytymään ja aloitin nautiskelun.
Aluksi kaadoin lasiin 7,310404527 senttilitraa erästä
suosikkiviskiäni, Laphroaig Quarter Caskia, jonka maku saa
oivallisen arominsa tavallista pienemmästä kypsytystynnyristä.
Katselin kohti entistä kotikaupunkiani ja join viskin hitaasti ja
joka pisarasta nautiskellen.
Koska sauna ei ollut vielä tarpeeksi lämmin, päätin vielä järjestää
pienen vertailun eli whisky tastingin. Kaadoin kolmeen lasiin tasan
saman määrän kutakin kolmea muuta suosikkiani, jotka ovat: 12
-vuotias Strathisla, 16 -vuotias Dailuaine, joka saa tumman värinsä
sherrytynnyrissä tapahtuvasta loppukypsytyksestä, sekä vielä 12
-vuotias Balvenie Double Wood, jossa yhdistyvät perinteisen
bourbontynnyrin ja sherrytynnyrin tuottamat aromit. Laskeva aurinko
häikäisi silmiäni, joten käänsin sille selkäni kun rauhallisesti
nautiskelin nämä kolme suosikkiani.
Minulla on ehdoton periaate olla koskaan ajamatta autoa alkoholin
vaikutuksen alaisena. En toki ajatellutkaan lähteä ajamaan
minnekään, mutta laskin silti teoreettisen verenalkoholini näiden
juomien jälkeen. Suuresta ruumiinmassastani huolimatta en olisi
enää ollut ajokelpoinen. Huvin vuoksi laskin vielä, että
normaalipainoinen, eli 85 -kiloinen mies olisi samalla
juomamäärällä saavuttanut 1,017647059 promillen verenalkoholin.
Viskivarastoni olisi juuri ja juuri voinut riittää kymmenelle
tällaiselle miehelle.
Tässä vaiheessa radioyhteydellä toimiva saunan lämpömittarin
kaukonäyttöni osoitti saunan olevan juuri parhaimmillaan, joten
päätin lähteä saunomaan!

What a wonderful day this is! Schools just ended for this season
and ahead lies ten trouble free weeks of freedom. I decided
to celebrate the occasion with enjoying some noble spirits in my
balcony. As those who know me know, I like Single Malt Scotch
whiskies a lot. Since one never enjoys them but a little swig at a
time I always measure the portion very accurately. I switched my
sauna on and laid some sausages wrapped in aluminium folio to warm
on the stove and started the enjoying.
First I poured into a glass 7,310404527 centilitres of one of my
favourites, Laphroaig Quarter Cask which gets its splendid aroma
from a maturation cask smaller than normal one. I was looking
towards my old hometown when drinking the whisky and enjoying every
single drop of it.
Since my sauna was still not warm enough, I decided to arrange a
little whisky tasting as well. I poured into three glasses exactly
same amount of three of my other favourite whiskies: Strathisla 12
years, Dailuaine 16 years which gets its dark colour from
maturation in sherry casks and Balvenie Double Wood 12 years, in
which are combined the aromas of traditional bourbon cask and and
sherry cask maturation. The setting sun was blinding my eyes so I
turned my back on it when enjoying these three favourites of
mine.
I have a strict principle of never driving a car under influence of
alcohol. I sure wasn't even thinking of driving but I still
calculated my theoretical blood alcohol level after these drinks
and in spite of my enormous body mass, I hadn't been capable of
driving a car legally. Just for the fun of it I also calculated
that a so called normal weighted man, meaning 85 kilograms, would
have reached a blood alcohol level of 1,017647059 promilles with
the same amount of alcohol. My whisky supplies would have lasted
just to ten of these men.
At this point my radio operated temperature display indicated the
sauna being just by its best, so I decided to go to sauna!
