Geocache Description:

There was so much positive feedback from the first Puzzle-Paloosa, that I decided to host another one.  At the first event, we overwhelmed the St. Louis County Library’s wifi when we all jumped onto Geocaching.com at the same time.  I can’t guarantee that that won’t happen this time, but I will check with the library to see how we can minimize the risk.  You may want to bring print outs of the caching page(s) for the puzzle(s) you’re working on, as a backup.

When I asked for feedback from Puzzle-Paloosa, one of the suggestions was to have a puzzle-solving mini lesson at the beginning of the event.  I have asked a couple of our local puzzle-creating COs if they would be able to share something about solving puzzles for the first 15 to 30 minutes of the event.  I will post an announcement when I know more.  If this doesn’t interest you, feel free to come a little later. Another comment was to have the event in a larger meeting room.  Done.  I have reserved the auditorium at this library branch.

So…if you have ever gotten a notification for a new puzzle cache, opened the cache page, and stared at the screen trying to figure out a way to solve it, only to throw up your hands, give up and wish someone would just give you a nudge in the right direction, I can relate.  This event is an opportunity for fellow geocachers to put their heads together, brainstorm, and/or perhaps ‘get a nudge’ on how to solve a puzzle cache that might have been plaguing them for a while. The purpose is to get together and work on solving puzzle caches, NOT TO BE GIVEN THE ANSWERS.

When you post your “will attend”, post the GC code for any specific puzzles you’d like help solving. That way, others who may be working on that cache can seek you out at the event or those who may have solved it could be prepared to give you a ‘nudge’.  If you’re good at solving puzzles, please consider attending and helping those of us who could use a hint to get us started.  Don’t have any puzzles to solve?  Don’t even like to do puzzles? That’s okay; you’re still welcome to be part of the fun and geo-fellowship.

Here are the event particulars:
