Not far off the Stoll Trail in Stokes State Park. A nice hike in a great State Park.
Off to get a hike on a brisk day in December, I found the road closed that leads deeper into the park. Jumped out and came across the Stoll Trail and headed in for a walk. Followed the trail in along the stream and found this really neat area and this great spot for a cache.
It was a cold day when I placed and the ground was frozen. I had the sense though that this might be a moist area in the warmer weather so wear good boots. The cache is a 30 mm Ammo Can.
IMPORTANT NOTES. This cache is located in a section of Stokes State Park where hunting is allowed. As such, please be aware of hunting season and wear bright colors if you are hiking during the various seasons (typically end of September through early January). Also be aware that Sussex County New Jersey has many bears and poisonous snakes. Be alert, know what to do if you have an encounter and you will enjoy exploring one of the greatest natural resources in the Northeast.
