At the above co-ords (or close to them. GPS accuracy won't be too
great in this valley/gorge) you'll find the entrance to what looks
to be an old mine. Bring boots and a torch. Take care, especially
if you walk beyond the location of the cache (not that far in!),
which I didn't do. I don't know how far the tunnel goes, but it was
beyond the range of my torch. It's not uncommon for old vertical
shafts to be covered up with wood - which rots. I imagine all the
water in the tunnel would find a vertical shaft and get past the
wood if it could, but still, mines are dangerous places and
should only be explored with the right skills and equipment.
There's plans to open the railway line above this cache up, and
this has resulted in the route to the cache from the north being
improved over what I experienced here in 2004. There's also a route
from the south, but this will require some walking on the road
(please take care and walk on the right to face oncoming traffic if
you come this way from parking) and I'm not sure of the terrain as
I've not approached from that direction.
Good luck, and happy caching!

I'll keep this cache for as long as reasonable practical - it
did go missing a number of times - but it is a great location. I
shall deal with it as best I can. Happy huntin'!
PLIERS OR LONG TWEEZERS ARE REQUIRED TO RETRIEVE THIS
CACHE.
