This cache has been archived.

Xira: These are done now. Thanks to the last finders, the containers and tags have already been removed from the Outback/Ridgetop and PWT trails. I will be removing the ones from the Rockhopper and Dogsleds trails over the next week.

Thank you to all who visited these caches.

Geocache Description:

A two-four of wherigo caches that will take you on a visual tour of the South March Highlands

Alert: You are about to download a file that contains further details needed to find this geocache. As the cache owner, I represent that this file is safe to download although it has not been checked by Groundspeak or by the reviewer for possible malicious content. Download this file at your own risk. Print the datasheet

Notes:

  • The caches are organized along four routes based on the trail on which they are located. The caches along each route share a single wherigo cartridge.
  • Along with the wherigo cartridges, the datasheet is an essential tool for doing this cache. Click the green picture link above to print the file and bring it along with you.
  • The datasheet includes additional information about the wherigos, such as advice about device settings and how to combine routes.
  • This is a visual tour - you will be guided along the trail by a series of pictures, augmented with verbal descriptions. With the exception of trailheads and caches, no distance or heading is provided.
  • If you have a choice of devices, use the one with the larger screen.
  • Parking is available along the Old Second Line road, along the west side.
  • Most information is collected while standing on the trail. Occasionally you may need to step off 2-5m to read a tag.
  • Most caches, but not all, are within 30m of the trail.
  • The highlands are popular with mountain bikers. Be courteous and step out of their way.
  • Copy and paste logs are fine.

A detailed map of the trails in the South March Highlands is available here.

The trails are well marked with directional signs wherever official trails intersect. If you get lost, follow the trail to any intersection, then follow the "P" arrows. That will take you back to the Klondike trailhead.

Many thanks to lostinthegarden and Walkslots for beta testing the caches along the North and South Dogsleds route.
