Geocache Description:

Located in Den Rock Park in Lawrence MA

Den Rock Park is the only real wooded area in Lawrence. It is a 120-acre wooded preserve that includes walking trails, a granite rock face with fissures perfect for technical climbing, scenic overlooks, and access to the Shawsheen River. It has a good sized parking lot on Rt 114, across from the North Andover Plaza.

This has been the home of a couple of caches in the past, but they have been archived. I put this one on the Great Blue Heron Trail. This is a nice walk by the Shawsheen River. I jumped a deer while placing the cache and saw 5 the last time I was on this trail.

While you are here, take the time and go to the top of the climbing hill, enjoy the nature overlook at the beaver pond, and walk around the climbing hill. Just pretend the condos that overshadow the park to the south are not there.

I have wanted to put another cache in here for months now, and I finally got around to it. The trails are well marked and hard packed. Mountain bikes would not be challenged here.

The container is a full sized ammo box hidden pretty well, but should not be a problem for cachers. I used the Geocache Rating System for this, but it may not be that hard of a cache.
