Geocache Description:

A small cache on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, at a town where Jesus lived and taught. It is part of the Jesus Footsteps cache series.

Jesus spent a big portion of his life in the Galilee. His miracles and sermons in several locations in the Galilee are well documented in the New Testament. This cache series commemorates some of them, in honor of the pilgrims and other visitors who frequent these unique places.

Capernaum was a Jewish settlement that Jesus adopted as home for several years. Some other apostles lived here as well (you can view the House of St. Peter inside the church). The remains of a synagogue can be found in Capernaum National Park. This may be the place where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Bread of Life. There is a unique Greek Orthodox church here as well.

The cache is a small loc-n-loc container, hidden just off the path that connects the national park and the Greek church. There is no writing tool in the cache.
