Just a bit of local history.... the three bridges are known locally as the Roman Bridges. However, they are believed to mediaeval, thirteenth century. John Ogilby's 'Britannia', published in 1675, was the first systematically surveyed road atlas of England and shows the main road from Lichfield to Chester crossing these bridges.
