Urban night cache. Wait until dark, grab a friend or two, bring torches that can shine the width of the road and head off for our urban wander. Shine your light (mainly at head height) and follow the reflectors that show you the way. The route takes about 30-40 minutes and about 3.5km long.
When MacPacSon & MacPacDaughter were younger, a favourite family activity on a free day was the Mystery Trip. We would head off from the driveway and in turn, the MacPacKids got to choose ‘left, right or straight ahead’. We would keep going until we found somewhere interesting to stop. Sometimes we would go around in circles and end up reasonably close to home, sometimes at a place we knew and other times it would be far away or somewhere new. This sounded a bit like going cache hunting, so we have made a geocaching night trail following this theory. Over the years some of the original reflectors have faded, so some places along the trail there may be more than one reflector - that is just maintenance. Trail markers are either orange (indicating turns) or white (to continue on the current route) and 3 in a row marks the end of the trail- only the cache still to be found! Please replace the cache as found and be aware of neighbours - including the barking ones.
