There is a certain gathering spot just east of Wekiva Springs State Park, which seems to attract a lot of people. Loud, drunk, pro-littering people, who listen to what can only be described as caterwalling. Seriously, it's bad. These guys have a propensity toward trash can hatred, and for the most part, simply refuse to use them, opting instead, to toss their beer cans, beer bottles and red plastic cups in the river, as some sort of offering to the redneck gods.
Let's clean it up!
We'll meet at Wilson's Landing at 7:00am, to drop off a couple shuttle vehicles, then head to Wekiva Springs State Park, hopefully arriving before they open the gate at 8:00am. You'll need to pay a nominal fee to enter the park. We'll splash our boats and commence cleaning up trash. We've got a tentative arrival time back at Wilson's at 3:00pm. This time may vary greatly, based on how much trash we encounter.
You need not paddle to attend. You can act as support units, helping us haul boats at either end, and/or do some clean up at Wilson's.
See you there!
