There is two important reason to remember to the small peaceful valley next to the Nagy-Kevély hill. First of all, this was the spot, what Zoltán Várkonyi choose to made the movie about our great historical event, the siege of Eger Castle. And this was the reason why they build the clone of the Castle here.

Maybe the spirit of the spot gives the idea to skepticX to hide here the first geocache in Hungary (FakeCastle) almost excatly three years ago in 24. June 2001.
Since then lot of logs registered to our national geocaching webpage (visit link) handled by Ferenc Kumin, FeVi and Kjr. To the nicest points of Hungary we placed geocaches, virtual and multi caches, mikro and event caches. We have cache coordinates on mountain peaks, on rocky walls, on plains, in castles, in cities, in swamps, and underwater. Inside the country, and outside, next to the borders, where are other Hungarians, who speak our language, but live in other countries.

In the morning of 19. June 2004 the most of the Hungarian geocachers (or at least the best of it :) ) come here to the Geocacher Valley, to hide the 1000th Hungarian cache almost 1000 meter away from the 1st cache. (GCEGER - GCD68)

I hope you will like this "historical" place, where you can find the 1st and the 1000th Hungarian geocache. The distance between them is about 1000 meters and almost 3 years.

Have a nice time here!
