Rose was my grandmother but also the Duvall librarian from 1957 until about 1977. After her retirement as librarian she continued to work part time here, until her death in October 1984. When the library was remodeled and enlarged in 1994 a meeting room was added to the basement. This room was dedicated in her honor.

As a side note and a little more history. Before the library remodel and addition the area where the Rose Room is now (and the back parking lot) was the Duvall tennis courts. I can remember as a wee lad, sitting in the library, looking out the back window at the over grown and unused tennis courts.
Of course this is the old Library I'm talking about, the new one is across the street. The new library was compleated in the spring of 2013, and in the fall or that year the Duvall Visitor center was opened in the old library space, but the rose room remains in the basement. Now the basement of the Vistor center. When the visitor center opened it was on a trial basis for one year, and there was some consern if we would be able to keep the cache there long term. Since the Visitor center has been a success there is no longer much consern of building being rented out, and we get to keep the cache going!
