Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park
Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is the first national park in Caucasus. Created in 1995, the park covers 85,083 hectares of attractive and pristine forest land and is one of the largest in Europe. This large area of mountainous forest is preserved in its pristine and virgin state. A number of endemic and relict species of flora and endangered species of fauna can be found in the forests as well as throughout sprawling subalpine and alpine meadows. A network of park trails allows hiking trips ranging from one day to one week, at altitudes between 520 m - 2642 m.
I invite you to enjoy the at least the two days hike via trails nr. 1, 6 and 10. To pick up all 5 trail caches, you will need to hike for about 18 km one-way, so it is a good idea to have a sleep-over in Lomismta tourist shelter either renting a bed there or setting up the tent nearby.
Trail 1: Nikoloz Romanov trail. Main attractions - corniferous and mixed forest, Lomi mountain, St. Giorgi church, scenic viewpoints of the Caucasus and Colchic sub-tropical forest.
Trail 6: Following Wildlife traces trail. Main attractions - panoramic views, scenery of Kvabiskhevi canyon, Mariamtsminda church.
Trail 10: Snowshoe trail. Main attractions - evergreen forests covered by snow and views of Lomismta.
During your visit to the National Park, please keep in mind, that you are in the protected area! Hunting and collecting any plant/animal species is strictly prohibited. While hiking please do not stray away from marked routes. Fire may only be lit at designated fire areas and extinguished properly. Do not litter!

Before you enter the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park, you will need to come to its Visitor Service and register your entry. Here you can also rent a bed in a tourist shelter, rent a sleeping bag and a mattress, etc. The address for the visitor centre is : 23 Meskheti Str. 1200 Borjomi, Georgia

About the cache: It will take about 1 - 1.5 hour to reach the summit of Lomismta from the tourist shelter. Prepare to be amazed by the views from the top. I would be happy to see your pictures from the top in your posted logs :). Search for a small pill-box type of container with a logbook inside. Not suitable for TB's or GC's. BYOP!
