Geocache Description:

I was introduced to Island Lake State Recreation Area many years ago by my SCUBA club, the Ford Sea Lancers. I thought I knew the park but now realize I knew Spring Mill Pond as that's where we maintained the swim area buoys and dove on a regular basis. Geocaching has introduced me to the rest of the park. This cache is my attempt to introduce others to the wonders of this beautiful park.

What to say about this hide? hmmmm. My intention was to place a quick cache near the Organization Campground parking. I hopped out of the car with only the cache container and my GPSr. I kept going further and further looking for a good hiding spot. I was surprised by thorns everywhere I turned. & the remnants of people having a good time. I spied GZ from a distance and was dismayed when I arrived that there was a trail next to it. I decided it was still a good spot and then proceeded to get lost. UGGH! I started to follow the trail out but it was going the wrong way. & my batteries weren't going to last long. & sunset was on its way. So... let me know if you find the trail. Or be prepared to battle the thorns. The container can accommodate small items of trade. BYOP
