Geocache Description:

YOU MUST POST A PHOTO TO SHOW YOU WERE THERE! The Great White Way" is a nickname for a section of Broadway in Midtown Manhattan that encompasses the Theater District. It is bounded by West 40th Street on the south, West 54th Street on the north, Sixth Avenue on the east and Eighth Avenue on the west, and includes Times Square.

You will visit three of the oldest theaters in this district which are all within 5 blocks of each other. Waypoints are included. Please send me a private message with the name of the theaters and answers to the following questions. Questions 3,6,and 7 can be researched before coming! Also, please include a photo which would provide evidence you were there! (Sometimes you can even rub the Genie's lamp at the first theater!) I cant require people to be in the photos, but it is preferred!

The first theater is where you may (as of publication) run into Aladdin! There is a plaque outside the venue near the box office.

1) What show was playing there from 1913 to 1927?

2) What is the year at the end of the plaque?

Theater #2 - N40 45.412 W73 59.081

3) Why did Rene Harris take over management of the theater from her husband?

4) There is a plaque outside the theater, what is the second name on the plaque?

Theater #3 - N40 45.462 W73 59.082

5) How many columns are on top of the overhang?

6) What happened in 1974?

Finally 7) What do all of these theaters have in common? It has to do with a year and its the same for all three! (Its not something that defines it as a theater of course!)
