It isn't well know, but during the war Spikester1 used his considerable Physics skills on the Manhattan Project. He led the team that developed some of the first Plutonium (after Pluto the dog) producing reactors.
As part of this effort, Spikester performed a sophisticated 'Monte-Carlo' analysis (MCA) of neutron diffusion in graphite moderated, water cooled reactors.
Spikester loves the MCA method and, being the prankster he is, would often records the results of a data run using symbols that seemed appropriate based on the methods name.
The attached image shows the results of one of the early MCA runs that proved a light water moderated, natural uranium reactor could never go critical. When asked by Fermi what these results implied concerning Plutonium production, Spikester is recorded as telling the great Italian-American Physicist that this would make things 'ruff'!
