Geocache Description:

Tudhope Park, Moose Beach, Barnfield Point; what is this place called anyways?

"The Central Ontario Geocachers Series has been placed by a group of cachers to further promote caching in our area. These caches will take you to places that we know and love as residents of the area and we hope that you will enjoy them as much as we have enjoyed placing them! Our area is one of the most beautiful locations in Ontario being bordered by the Oak Ridges Moraine to the South, and Cottage Country to the North containing Highlands, Lowlands, vast forested areas, lakes, rivers, and wetlands."

"Levis-Pedis Secutus" is the trail that you will be walking on. Normally it goes by another name that is easier to remember. The park itself is called Tudhope Park but the beach is Moose beach and the point is Barnfield Point. I think you will agree that it can become confusing (I won't even try to explain the history of the site to you).

The bench located nearest to the cache has been donated by our family in memory of my Father. Please have a seat and enjoy the view.

Also, if it is warm and summer weather is here you will see many Muggles enjoying this trail and park. Bring your roller blades, bathing suit, good book and a picnic lunch.

Tudhope Park is also the home of the "Mariposa Folk Festival". Every summer for this one week-end the park is closed to regular visitors and you must buy a ticket to the festival to get in. If you enjoy music, this may be the w/e to do this cache.

BTW: The trail leading to the cache would definitely be wheelchair accessible during the Spring, Summer and Fall but the last few feet to the cache is across an uneven surface and the cache itself would not be reachable from the chair.

Please enjoy this wonderful place.
