This cache will take you to the end of Grjótárdalur, the glacier valley. It's possible to get few meters from the cache with a car, but there's one river crossing just near the parking spot so you must be very careful and your car should be 4x4 and with a raised suspension. If you decide to leave your car on a parking place, you can easily cross the river by stepping on the stones in the river and then follow the vehicle track. It should take you about 15-20 min. one way and the hike is quite enjoyable, in a nice scenery.
The hiding spot is close to the fence, below the path, in small cliff along the river (see the SPOILER photos if you need help).
After finding the cache we encourage you to follow the path upstream along the Grjótá river deep into the glacier valley to experience the beauty of this area or even climb the Hafrafell mountain (1288 m a.s.l.) which looks down on the valleys beneath. If you have a lot of time and feel like making a long trekking to the glacier Hjaltadalsjökull and back you'll be in a very good starting point as well.
