There will be a gadget trail you are invited to put one out! Here is what you need to know.
This year the 10th Anniversary of the Southeast Iowa October Cachefest will provide the opportunity to try out geocache designs that otherwise might not be practical. For example, since the cache only needs to be in place for one day, your cache design can include battery-operated features. There may be a limited number of electrical connection also. It also means you can use materials that otherwise might not be strong enough to withstand the weather for more than a day. We will provide a location or trail starting at the lodge along the chain link fence.
1. You must notify us at gandtsam@gmail.com by Oct. 10th if you will have an entry.
2. You may have more than 1 entry.
3. You will need to provide a table or stand if your cache needs to be off the ground.
4. You may not fasten to trees or any park structure with screws, nails or anything that might damage park property.
5. We will provide an entry number and ballots for voting purposes. Every event participant may vote once.
6. You will need to have your cache in place from 9am – 2pm. That will give people a chance to turn in votes on their favorite cache.
7. 1st place prize TBD, will be awarded during the afternoon prize drawings.
Make sure to bring your cables for your GPS just in case.

Camping
The campground offers both electric and non-electric sites, modern shower and restroom facilities, as well as a trailer dump station. The campground is located adjacent to the lake.
Family Cabins
Lake Wapello State Park has fourteen cedar-sided family cabins to rent April through October. These cabins are very popular for family vacations and reunions. They accommodate four people comfortably and feature a restroom, shower, stove/oven, microwave and refrigerator. The cabins may be reserved online.
