William Boyce was lost on a foggy street in London in 1909 when an unknown Scout came to his aid, guiding him to his destination. The boy then refused Boyce's tip, explaining that he was a Boy Scout and was merely doing his daily good turn. Soon thereafter, Boyce met with General Baden-Powell, who was Chief Scout at the time. Boyce returned to America, and, four months later, founded the Boy Scouts of America on February 8, 1910. It's for this reason that scouts across the states remember and honor this unknown scout.
This is my 50th placed cache, and though I had taken some time off, it is great to start back strong. This geocache was placed with the permission of one of the scout executives. It's a big one, and I hope it can serve another purpose. Leave and take anything you think will be good for a scout. It also can be a little library, already with a few books to share.
My little scout helped me with this as well, so we wish you Happy Caching!
