Geocache Description:

Often referred to as Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland, the Mullerthal Region - or Mëllerdall in Luxembourgish – owes its name to its hilly landscape reminiscent of Switzerland. The region is above all a unique biotope characterized by sandstone rock formations which are as beguiling as surprising. It is the unique composition of the rock and soil erosion that have contributed to the creation of this landscape so typical for the region. Today, Luxembourg's Little Switzerland attracts tourists from near and far away.

This is a revival geocache of the famous "Little Switzerland in Luxemburg" series which has been archived. It is part of a series of 4 T5 abseiling caches and 1 bonus cache. In each cache container you will find some information for the bonus cache.

Please consider the following rules:

  • In order to avoid accidents, please use the appropriate material to decent on a rope
  • Only do this cache if you know how to use your climbing material
  • Don't take any risk if you are unsure
  • A 40 m rope for single rope descent is largely enough (maybe 50 m as double rope is already enough)
  • Always wear a helmet
  • Everything you do is on your own responsibility!

To go to the cache, just follow the path on the right side of the small stream and cross over when you are at the closest point to the cache. From here you see paths leading up which show you the way to the starting point.

Anchor points:

As the intially marked anchor trees are dead, please fix your rope on BOTH of the trees with the red mark for security reasons. Go a litel bit down to a kind of platform which is hidden behind small bushes and a small needle tree. Go down in the crack where you find traces which have been cut in the rock by ropes.

Have fun, enjoy these great rocks and the nature around.
