Geocache Description:

It was a beautiful, sunny day for Sassey and I to go snowshoeing. We walked about one and a half miles to the spot where we hid the cache.

This cache is intended for finding during the winter. I parked along Highway 2 a bit East of Forest Service Road 6700. We followed the road NW until there was a trail on the left that was an easy down. We headed into the woods just picking our way through trees and snow drifts that yielded the least resistance.

The cache is in a large hollow tree in a clump of evergreen trees at an elevation of about 3220 feet. The area was open and had wonderful views. We crossed several creeks that are under the snow. When the snow begins to melt I would imagine it would be rather dangerous. In the summer I believe it is a tangle of brush. This cache is placed in the area of the MIA Geo Stumpy cache. (GC2D86)

If you are one of the adventurous ones to attempt this, use wisdom! Under the right snow and weather conditions, this should actually be quite easy.

Here are two waypoints provided by hydnsek to help guide you in the winter.
WP1 - Leaving FS 6700 to go cross country; this is the best spot to start bushwhacking: N 47 47.176 W 121 02.806
WP2 - Snow bridge to cross the large stream: N 47 46.973 W 121 03.235

The ammo can is MIA. I replaced it with a PVC pipe container with caps on each end that I made. There is room for small things. It is tied very securely to a large evergreen tree near the trunk and hangs down several feet.
