Cache to Eagle #5 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

This is the fifth in a new series called “cache to Eagle” which highlight Eagle Service Projects by the Boy Scouts of Marin Council. This is an easy hide, good for beginners.

This 18 station par course was refurbished by two scouts from Troop 27. The course had been neglected with much of the wooden structures decayed. They laid the tanbark on the trails, cleared the bushes and weeds, replaced rotten wood, pressure washed and stained all the structures and then place wood chips around the entire course.

Scouting provides a tremendous number of service hours to the community. If you took the total hours of community service conducted by the Marin Council in one year and assigned that to a single individual working 40 hours a week…how long would it take them to accomplish the same amount of service? Answer: 18.95 years!
